The Easy Way to Lose Weight

Losing weight can be frustrating and feel impossible at times. You see all the different ways to lose weight, but you can't find the perfect match for you. You read tips that say one thing, and you see another article that tells you to do it a completely different way.

You feel like you're on a hamster wheel and you try it and quit before you see any results. There's got to be a way that fits you and your lifestyle that will work.

Let's take all the fluff out of the million and one ways to lose weight and get down to the nitty-gritty points that will not only help you lose weight but actually gets you to conform to a healthy lifestyle that sticks. You need tips that help you stay on track so that you can see the full potential that your body has of losing weight and keeping it off.

In the world of social media and television commercials, you see hundreds of ways to lose weight. From creams, pills, exercise equipment, nutrition plans, and diets that are high fats, low fats, no carbs, or no sugars, your head can spin. Which one will work best for you?

Losing weight can be quickly done with these simple tips that follow no fads. These new diets everyone sees are just that, fads. They come, and they go. If they worked magic, they'd never go away, and we would all be skinny and healthy. So if you've tried various diets and always find yourself yo-yo dieting, sit back and relax. This article will put you back on track in a way that will have you living a healthy, realistic lifestyle without all the added pressure of shiny diets.

CONSISTENCY

I cannot stress enough of the importance of being CONSISTENT when you want to lose weight.  Results depend on you showing up consistently with both your fitness and nutrition. You don't have to be perfect, but you MUST be consistent.

Of course, you can miss a workout or go overboard with your nutrition, here and there, but you must learn how to jump right back on the bandwagon and be consistently working towards your goals. Always keeping with your fitness and nutrition plan is a sure way to lose weight quickly.

Your body needs time to react to your new way of living and consistently sticking with food, and your workouts will allow the body to release body fat and increase lean muscles. If you're always jumping in and out of a healthy lifestyle, your body will continue to lose and gain weight. Your body is a machine, and it needs the tools to work at it's greatest potential to reward you with the body you've always wanted.

You don't need to be extreme with your plan. It's essential that you carefully choose a workout and nutrition plan that conforms to your daily life so you can easily sustain this new routine, consistently.

Allow yourself not to be spot on with every workout or every meal. If you're feeling run down and you've lost your motivation to do a workout, still go and do only ten minutes. No, it's not what you're supposed to do, but this is a great way to keep yourself on a daily routine and will, over time, develop a healthy lifestyle that you will stick with forever.

If you're starving and you're out to dinner, allow yourself to have a little extra to eat. Eat it and let it go. Depriving yourself of everything you love will only lead to failure. However, don't allow yourself to do this every single day. Again, you need to be consistent with your plan, not perfect.

When you’re trying to lose weight, dieting can be very overwhelming. With so many fad diets on the market, you’re constantly reading what not to do and what you should do. Losing weight doesn’t need to be daunting. Use these simple tips to get your …

BE LEARY OF FAD DIETS

As I said, there are a million diets on the market today, and they all give you different directions in which to go. So which one are you to choose? I'm old school, and I love to read scientific studies on all things fitness and nutrition. Here is the bottom line of how to lose weight with your diet

CALORIES!

No matter what company or person creates a "new diet" that is sure to have you burning fat and building muscles quicker than lightning, it all boils down to the number of calories you're taking in and putting out.  There is no way around this.

From keto diets to no carb foods to intermittent fasting, it all comes down to calories. If you're ingesting more calories than your body is burning, you're going to gain weight. If you're reducing your calories and increasing your calorie burn with exercise, you'll easily lose weight.

To accurately know what your calorie intake is, you MUST track your food. Drinks must also be tracked as they too can be loaded with calories. Be thoughtful in the foods you pick to fit into your calorie window, as your body needs macronutrients of protein, fats, and carbs. You'll find the healthier you eat, the longer those calorie numbers will last you throughout the day.

I like to do the 80/20 split. 80% of my day is filled with healthy, macro rich foods like grilled chicken, sweet potatoes, egg whites, and green veggies. 20% of my day is what I save for my "treat" foods like chips, cookies, or ice cream.  Eating this way will keep you on track and allows you to eat the foods you crave and want.

If you took all the foods I love to eat away; I'd fail miserably. Being too restrictive can leave you feeling anxious and miserable. Mix up your diet to keep you motivated and working hard towards your goals.

WATER

One of the easiest ways to lose weight is to increase your water intake. H2O has profound impacts on our bodies. Not only is it easy to drink water, but you'll save a ton of daily calories with drinking water.

Here's a quick list of the benefits of drinking more water:

1. Helps boost your metabolism

2. Cleanses your body of waste

3. Can suppress your appetite

4. Reduces water retention in your body leading to a few extra pounds of weight loss

5. Helps whiten your teeth

6. Keeps you feeling more energized

Track your water intake. You may be surprised by how little water you're actually drinking. Set a goal of eight glasses of eight ounces of water each day and increase it from there.

Mix it up. Add different fresh fruits to your water. Lemons, cucumbers, berries, and watermelon are just a few of my favorites to add. Carry it with you so you can continuously fuel your body throughout the day and keep yourself hydrated.

Be sure to stock up on water and carry it with you to prevent yourself from picking a sugary, high-calorie drink. Keep your water refrigerated if possible, so you enjoy a cold, refreshing drink.

Drinking ice cold water helps boost your metabolism because your body has to work harder to warm the water up to your body temperature. This process burns more calories, and any chance you can burn more calories is a bonus!

GET OUTSIDE

A sure way to quickly lose weight is to get outside and move your body. Go for walks, play on the playground with your children. Go skiing, hiking, kayaking, jogging or a day of sightseeing.

These are simple ways to burn calories without feeling like you're exercising. Staying active will not only burn calories, but it will boost your energy and mood. There are endless benefits of getting outside and enjoying life.

Too cold outside? Did you know that walking outside in colder temperatures burns more calories as your body has to work harder to keep your core temperature regulated?  So bundle up and get out in the fresh air. That's a double win.

Not only are you increasing your chances of losing weight, but a little vitamin D is good for you. You produce Vitamin D when your body is directly exposed to sunlight. Vitamin D boosts weight loss and helps reduce your appetite. It can also reduce depression and may be an important role in regulating your mood.

So get out and enjoy some fresh air, sunshine and move your body. There's nothing better than spending time with your loved ones while losing weight. Maybe you'll inspire your family to live a more healthy lifestyle. What more important role can you play in your children's lives?

There’s so many diet fads and exercise trends on the market, it can be overwhelming deciding which one will actually work for you. Losing weight doesn’t need to consume your life or make you feel like you’re starving and exercising for hours a week.…

TRACK YOUR FOOD

You don't need to be obsessive with your dieting. When you become too restrictive with your diet, you'll ultimately end up failing. Being rigid and depriving yourself of foods you love will make you feel miserable, isolated, and hopeless on your quest to lose weight.

To avoid such feelings, track your food. Find small ways to reduce your calorie intake. I highly advise taking baby steps when you begin dieting. Going all or nothing is extremely difficult and not meant for everyone.

Try swapping out your regular three sodas a day for two drinks of a non-calorie beverage a day. You could switch from regular soda to diet. Start adding in more water daily. Skip on the fries for dinner and add green veggies instead.

By tracking your food intake, you can slowly start tweaking your daily food habits and allowing yourself to adjust to healthier eating. By doing this, you will see where you're improving.

You don't need to go cold turkey. Consistently make small changes daily, weekly, or monthly, and you'll see how easily you can begin to lose weight.

Again, you don't need to be drastic. Allow yourself the foods you love, but slowly introduce yourself to healthier choices. Add fruits and vegetables throughout the day to replace sugary foods. Baby steps will keep you from feeling deprived and will allow you to see how much better you feel when you make the healthier choice over the not so healthy option.

BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION

When you begin your journey in weight loss, you automatically feel like you have to put on those running shoes and hit the pavement jogging every single day to lose weight. So many go at fitness with this thought process and inevitably fail.

Instead of going all out with fitness, build a solid foundation that you start slowly, but ultimately stick with. If you do everything you despise, you'll find ways to avoid it. Starting with the things you can physically do without struggling is where you need to begin.

If you're all new to fitness, begin with walking. It may not seem like much, especially when you want to lose weight quickly, but you're really starting a fitness LIFESTYLE, which is precisely how you'll lose weight and keep it off.

Once you're in the habit of daily walks, start adding more to your regimen. Maybe do a couple of squats before and after your walk. Walk faster, add a few quick jogs in your walk.  Walk for five minutes and add some lunges then back to walking and keep repeating this cycle until you're finished.

Walk longer or walk on more inclined areas. Keep adding to your new daily routine, and you'll soon see that you're building a daily habit that you no longer have to force yourself to do.

Once you feel that you've established this, move on to adding weight training. Buy a set of dumbbells or join a gym. Allow yourself to keep moving up the fitness ladder with new things that keep you motivated and your body working.

Hire a trainer or buy an online program that teaches you how to put together a workout or shows you HOW to exercise and change your body. Fitness has no end date. You'll be forever working on your body composition, and the key to success is to show up and be consistent. Building a strong foundation of daily fitness habits will keep you moving forward and getting all the results you want.

No magic potion will take body fat down and bring you nothing but happiness and joy. However, learning how to lose weight without being miserable is worth every step you take. Losing weight and accomplishing your goals will bring you happiness and joy. You'll be proud of yourself, and you will feel both physically and emotionally.
